Visiting with Grandpa and Grandma!

Probably there is nothing better for kids than a visit with grandpa and grandma--totally get to do and get whatever they want! It does the grown-ups good too--everyone needs to be spoiled sometimes!

Visiting Chris' dad and Emilia is the first part of our California adventure.

Of course the first thing that I always do upon arriving in California is seek out a cheap mani/pedi. We had so much fun getting our nails done--just the girls! Tiare's turned out to be not so cheap as she got zebra strips on her toes and fingers!

We spent most of our time just hanging out and visiting which is what my kids love to do most--hang out at home--especially when there is unlimited Disney Channel involved!

Did I forget to mention unlimited ice cream too?

I really do think that the little conversations that take place while hanging out are the real reasons for family visits.

But don't get the wrong idea, we hit the town a lot too!

Shooting at the big sporting store:

Same picture but with mean faces:

Oh dear, this one is a bit disturbing:

We went out to eat a lot--yum! Though we also had some great milenasas too at home that Emilia made for us!

Is that Chris Cutri at Spaghetti Factory??!!!

Dining with sleepy kids--always a pleasure!

What Cutri California trip would be complete without going to the local skatepark every day?

And I mean everyday--maybe they'll skip today as it is Sunday.

Soda break:

Grandpa gave Atticus a case of rootbeer that was just for him all week!

This was my most favorite place of all!! They had the best breakfast, and the whole place reminded me of Ojai!!

Look at those Pepper Trees--just like the ones in my Grandpa Charles' yard in Ojai!

The highlight of Tiare's trip was our girls' night out with just Emilia, Tiare, and Mommy--Sole we missed you so!! We went to dinner at the Cheesecake Factory, shopped at Sephora, and then like all good princesses, we took a ride in our carriage!!

Look at how happy she is!! That face just shines with happiness--it really was worth a million dollars to see--good thing it only cost $15!!!

We were wishing so badly that Sole could have been with us!! (Sole is Emilia's daughter, Tiare's aunt, and my friend who was home in Utah). So, we called Sole on the phone during our carriage ride:

Again, look at her eyes--she is just so excited!

These pictures are a little blurry as I took them while the carriage was going--the horse, named Princess of course, trotted--so we were going pretty fast! I have a great video of this but still haven't figured out how to email videos from my iPhone to my picasa account and upload them to the blog--if anyone knows please tell me.

If you can't see Tiare's face really well, make sure to double click on the pictures to enlarge them!

It really was a magical experience:

We even got glass slippers...

We spoke Spanish most of the time. Tiare apparently has learned some essential phrases like, "Da me dinero!" and "Donde esta mi comida!" I think that someone was whispering these lines in her ear--let's hope.

Atticus had a great time with his new Bionical--he built it himself and played and played...

Atticus also had a great time with his new helicopter that flies via remote control.

Juan and Emilia have the best park really close to their house, so we would go there to play basketball and play on the playground. One night we had a picnic there--all Tiare's good idea.

Emilia had a great idea of having the kids wash the car--they got $10 each!!! Atticus did a particularly good job!

It was such a fun and relaxing visit!! Now we are off to the second part of our California Adventure--Newport!!

It looks like Atti is as tall as Tiare now! Et will be excited to see that Atti likes Bionicles. He is still very happy spending a few hours each day building his own creations out of Bionicles. Your kids are really growing up. I love to see it, even if we are 2000 miles away.
